PROCESS AND SEMIFINISHED PRODUCT MADE OF LAMINATED WOOD FOR WINDOW FRAMES

The invention relates to a process and a semifinished product made of laminated wood for window frames, consisting of two or more layers, mechanically assembled by means of joining elements or by bonding, used in woodworking and carpentry and especially for manufacturing thermopane window frames and for reusing the existing frames by modification. The claimed process consists in longitudinally cutting the recycled window frames and inserting the supplemental layer, then restoring, by final mounting, by bonding, the window frame at the new transverse dimensions imposed by norms, after mounting the resulting product showing a higher mechanical strength and dimensional stability, also allowing the milling/cutting, in the recycled or reconfigurated frames or in the new semifinished products, of the pockets intended for inserting the sealing gaskets which are elastic upon closing the windows frames against their cases. The semifinished product manufactured by the claimed process consists in processing a triple laminated semifinished product with sizes of 72x86 mm, which is frequently used for manufacturing windows with a profile of 68x78 mm, is split on a circular saw there resulting two bonded layers (1) and a detachable layer (2), which are remounted with some dowel pins (3), under the detachable layer (2) there is arranged a distance piece (4) of a thickness equal to the saw blade used for cutting, thus there being made the modified semifinished product with sizes of 72x86 mm, which can be machined with the tool kit for window case with a profile of 68 mm, then the insulating intermediary layer is cut by using the distance piece (4) as template and the three layers are assembled by some dowel pins (3) and adhesive, there being obtained a case element with a profile of 96 mm and the window sash is cut longitudinally in order to carry out the thermal rehabilitation of the elastic windows with simple or thermally insulated glazing, there is introduced an insulating core (5), there is mounted a thermally insulated glazing (7) and some sealing gaskets (6).
