Disclosed is a method for decoding a low-density parity check (LDPC) code. The method for an LDPC code according to an embodiment of the present invention includes an initialization process for multiple check nodes and multiple variable nodes, a check node update process, a variable node update process, a test decoding process, a parity check process, and additionally a step of detecting at least one deactivated variable node, which does not need to be updated, from the variable nodes. In the variable node update process, the variable node update is performed for only activated variable nodes except the deactivated variable node. In the check node update process, the check node update is performed without using the deactivated variable node. |
