<p>The invention relates to a method for protecting metadata (MD_f), the metadata describing a file (f) in a storage system and being recorded on a main server (S_MD1) and on a secondary server (S_MD2), the method comprising the following steps: a client (C) obtains an identifier of the main server (S_MD1); the client (C) sends a request to the main server (S_MD1) so as to obtain the metadata (MD_f), the request comprising an identifier of the file (f); the main server (S_MD1) sends a response to the client (C), the response comprising the metadata (MD_f); the client (C) sends a message (13) to the main server (S_MD1) for the updating of the metadata on the main server, and the client (C) sends a message (14) to the secondary server (S_MD2) for the updating of the metadata on the secondary server, the client having previously obtained an identifier of the secondary server.</p> |
