The present invention relates to a technology of obtaining a photoacoustic image by using motion compensation. A method for obtaining a photoacoustic image comprises the following steps: receiving an ultrasonic signal generated by a photon which is absorbed into an object to be measured after the photon is applied to the object to be measured; obtaining a plurality of frame images of the object to be measured from the ultrasonic signals received according to time by repeating processes of applying the photon and receiving the ultrasonic signal; compensating for each movement generated in an image of a previous frame with respect to the most recent frame among the obtained frame images; and generating one photoacoustic image by accumulating a plurality of frame images of which movements are compensated for.
