The invention relates to a method for generation of mechanical actions by means of a magnetic field induced into a ferro-fluid and to an electro-mechanical actuator device for applying the said method. According to the invention, the method comprises the generation of a non-homogeneous magnetic field by an inducting system, the magnetic field being oriented perpendicular to the two surfaces of a non-magnetic disk submerged in a ferro-fluid-containing vessel by means of a rod which is resiliently articulated to the vessel body, the magnetic field of the inductor generating in the ferro-fluid different pressures and magnetic forces which act upon the two surfaces of the disk and make it move and the transmission of motion to the exterior of the vessel, by means of the rod, motion which depends on the magnetic field induced to the ferro-fluid. The device for applying the method, as claimed by the invention, comprises two identical electromagnets (1 and 1'), each of them containing a cylindrical ferromagnetic core (2 ans 2') and a coil (3 and 3'), a vessel (4) containing a ferro-fluid (5), a disk (6) made of a non-magnetic material, which is fixed to the lower end of an actuation rod (7) which is articulated to the vessel body (4) by a bellows-type resilient element (8), while to the upper end of the rod (7), the piece (9) to be actuated can be fixed. |
