Disclosed is a system adapted for intravascular hepatic neuromodulation. The system includes an energy source adapted to deliver energy, and an ablation device which is sufficiently flexible so as to facilitate access to and positioning within a hepatic artery in a subject. The ablation device has a proximal end and a distal end, the distal end comprising one or more electrodes or transducers. The system also includes one or more electrically conductive wires connecting the energy source to the one or more electrodes or transducers. The system is adapted to deliver a therapeutically effective amount of energy to disrupt communication along one or more nerves surrounding the hepatic artery. |
