The present document describes a process for extracting a conifer essential oil from a conifer branch by delimbering on site a cut conifer tree to harvest a raw conifer material comprising conifer branches, chipping the raw conifer material to obtain a chipped raw conifer material, and loading the chipped raw conifer material into a mobile still apparatus, extracting the conifer essential oil, by subjecting the chipped conifers branches to steam at a sufficient pressure and a sufficient temperature a sufficient stream flow, for a sufficient time to extract the conifer essential oil. The raw conifer material may be provided as frozen raw conifer material, or its harvest is performed about 7 days or less from extraction of the essential oil when the exterior temperature is from about 15°C or more, or about 14 days or less from extraction of the essential oil when an exterior temperature is from about less than 15°C to about 0°C. The chipping may be performed about 12 hours or less from extraction of the essential oil. |
