摘要 The present invention provides a charging system and an operation method therefor by which it is possible to charge a storage battery within a voltage range in which the difference between a charge voltage and a discharge voltage is small. A charging system (1) is provided with: cell assemblies (22A, 22B) formed by combining a plurality of storage batteries; a first electrolyte storage container (24A) for storing a first electrolyte circulated with the storage battery (22A); a second electrolyte storage container (24B) for storing a second electrolyte circulated with the storage battery (22B); a first electrolyte supply means (26A); a second electrolyte supply means (26B); switching means (SW1, SW2, SW3, SW4, SW5) for switching the connections between the cell assemblies (22A, 22B) between series and parallel connection; and a control device (50) for controlling the switching of the switching means, the flow amount of the first electrolyte, and the flow amount of the second electrolyte. The charging system (1) is operated such that during charging, the connection between the plurality of storage batteries is switched to parallel, and during discharge, the connection is switched to series.
