An input device (202) for controlling a machine (100) including a knob body (304) provided for a control lever (302) for selective transmission mode. A lower segment (402) of the knob body extends out from a vertical axis of the control lever (302) and includes a pair of upright protrusions (414) that define a gap therebetween. A movable switch (418) is located within the gap for selective hoisting functions. A first actuation switch (420) disposed on a sidewall (422a) of the lower segment (402). The upper segment (424) is disposed about the vertical axis and is located proximate to the upper portion (410) of the lower segment (402). The upper segment (424) is in a spaced relationship relative to the protrusions (414). The upper segment (424) includes a locking switch (427) that is operable to allow selective movement of the control lever (302), and a second actuation switch (424) that is provided on a sidewall (422a) of the upper segment (424).
