A method and device for locking a screen of a terminal. The method comprises: providing a protective sleeve with an induction region on an external surface of a terminal; judging whether the protective sleeve covers a screen of the terminal using the induction region of the protective sleeve; and if the protective sleeve covers the screen of the terminal, the terminal entering a screen-locking state, wherein the induction region is provided on one side of the protective sleeve corresponding to the screen of the terminal, is led out to the external surface of the protective sleeve through a conducting wire and is grounded after coming into contact with a user. By means of the method, when a user uses a protective sleeve to protect a screen of a terminal, the screen of the terminal is locked and the device enters a standby state, thereby greatly improving the user experience.
