<p>A stabilizer for a chainsaw having a base plate affixed to a bottom surface of a chainsaw and an extendable foot plate is provided. The foot plate is slidably disposed in the base plate so that it slides in for stowage and extends for use. The base plate is provided with spring loaded retention means to allow the foot plate to be extended and retained in the in-use position, or held in the stowed position. A user extends the foot plate into an extended position and steps upon a top surface of the foot plate to stabilize the chainsaw during the starting procedure.</p> |
