PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water jet peening device that can efficiently reform tensile residual stress in a working object surface such as a surface of welding part into compressive residual stress.SOLUTION: The water jet peening device 110 includes: a hermetically-sealed container 111 covering the surface of the welding part 102 so as to define a sealed state where the internal pressure is higher than the external pressure; an injection nozzle 112 for injecting high pressure water containing air bubbles toward the surface of the welding part 102 inside the hermetically-sealed container 111; and a pressure control hole 113 capable of controlling the internal pressure of the hermetically-sealed container 111. |
