PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the operation of an expander with a relatively simple structure.SOLUTION: A rankine cycle device 1 of the disclosed invention includes: a circuit 10 of a working fluid; an evaporator 15 serving as a heater; a first heat exchange part 12a serving as a cooler; an expander 11; a first temperature sensor 7a; a second temperature sensor 7b; and a control device 5. The first temperature sensor 7a detects a temperature of the working fluid which flows from an outlet of the evaporator 15 to an inlet of the expander 11 in the circuit 10 of the working fluid. The second temperature sensor 7b detects a temperature of the working fluid which flows from an outlet of the expander 11 to an inlet of the first heat exchange part 12a. The control device 5 controls the number of rotation of the expander 11 on the basis of a difference between a detection temperature of the first temperature sensor 7a and a detection temperature of the second temperature sensor 7b.
