<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water treatment system and method that surely separate and remove soluble manganese and suspended matter, and allow stable operation by suppressing membrane clogging due to suspended matter and biological metabolites.SOLUTION: A water treatment system 10A of the present invention comprises: a reaction tank 16 that holds raw water in a state of chlorine coexistence; a membrane filtration column 18 that filters the raw water with a membrane; a catalytic oxidation filtration column 20 that removes soluble manganese; and a treated water tank 26 that stores treated water. In the water treatment system 10A, the soluble manganese-containing raw water in the state of chlorine coexistence is filtered with the membrane to separate and remove suspended matter contained in the raw water, and then, soluble manganese remaining in the membrane-filtered water is insolubilized by catalytic oxidation to remove insoluble manganese. The insoluble manganese-removed treated water is stored in the treated water tank 26, and the membrane filtration column 18 and the catalytic oxidation filtration column 20 are backwashed with the treated water. Consequently, soluble manganese and the like can be surely removed, and membrane clogging can be suppressed to enable stable operation.</p> |
