PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modified polyvinyl acetate capable of maintaining a modulus of elasticity even under a high temperature environment.SOLUTION: There is provided a modified polyvinyl acetate obtained by copolymerization of vinyl acetate and at least one monomer selected from a dialkyl maleate ester and a dialkyl fumarate ester using a suspension polymerization method in the presence of a modified polyvinyl alcohol having a bonding unit represented by the formula (I). (X1 and X2 represent an alkyl group having 1 to 12 carbon atoms, H or a metal salt; Y1 represents carboxylic acid, a carboxylic acid ester, a carboxylic acid metal salt or H; g represents 0 to 3; and h represents 0 to 12.) |
