PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface melting furnace capable of estimating the profile of a molten surface over a wide range.SOLUTION: A surface melting furnace comprises: a furnace chamber 4 including a cinder notch 3a formed in a furnace bottom 3; and a treatment object supply mechanism 8 supplying the treatment object toward the furnace chamber 4, melting of the treatment object supplied to the furnace chamber 4 from the treatment object supply mechanism 8 starting at a surface thereof and the molten treatment object flowing down to the cinder notch 3a, and the surface melting furnace further comprises a plurality of sensors Hs and Ts measuring different measurement portions for estimating a profile of the molten surface of the treatment object. |
