In the present invention, a gas sensor is provided with a housing, an insulator, an inner cover, and an outer cover. An inner peripheral hole of the housing is composed of a rear-end hole section and a distal-end hole section at a boundary of which a stepped difference is formed in an inclined shape. The inner cover has an enlarged-diameter section facing the stepped difference. The insulator has a flange for sandwiching and holding the enlarged-diameter section with the stepped difference. A burr projecting out toward the surface of the stepped difference is provided to the surface of the enlarged-diameter section. Due to this configuration, it is possible to prevent the covers from tilting relative to the inner peripheral hole of the housing and prevent the occurrence of damage or breakage of an element body. |
