METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR RECOVERING DATA IN DB2 DATABASE

Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for recovering data in a DB2 database. The data recovery apparatus is configured to recover a deleted record by: receiving a system file and a data file from a database; deriving a data area including the deleted record by retrieving, from the data file, an extent map in which the address of the data area has been recorded; and extracting the deleted record from the data area. In addition, the data recovery apparatus is configured to derive table information of the deleted record by: deriving information about one or more tables from the system file; and sequentially comparing respective column sizes and data types included in the information about one or more tables, using the column size and data type of the deleted record.
