A collapsible fuel-door housing is provided and may include a first housing (12) and a second housing (14) slidably attached to the first housing and movable from a first state overlapping the first housing to a second state adjacent to the first housing. The fuel-door housing also includes a locking mechanism (38, 40, 50) moveable between an unlocked state permitting movement of the second housing into the second state and a locked state restricting relative movement between the first housing and the second housing to maintain the second housing in the second state. |
