<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of balancing a holding steering assistance function and a returning assistance function when a steering wheel is turned back, on a road with a cross slope.SOLUTION: The electric power steering device includes: an electric motor for giving assistance force to the steering by a steering wheel of a vehicle; a holding steering assistance current calculation unit, for, when the vehicle is made to go straight on a road with a cross slope, making the electric motor give holding steering assistance force for keeping a steering angle Sa of the steering wheel a holding steering angle Sah determined on the basis of the cross slope; and a restoration assistance current calculation unit for making the electric motor give returning assistance force for returning the steering wheel to a neutral position when the steering wheel is turned back. While the holding steering assistance current calculation unit makes the electric motor give the holding steering assistance force, the restoration assistance current calculation unit makes the electric motor give assistance force for returning the steering wheel to the holding steering angle Sah, instead of the returning assistance force.</p> |
