A method of wireless communication includes receiving physical layer signaling from a serving eNodeB in a wireless network. Interference estimation, interference cancellation and/or spatial equalization of user equipment is controlled in accordance with the received signaling.

negotiating, at a serving eNodeB, adaptive resource partition information (ARPI) with at least one neighboring eNodeB; and transmitting, from the serving eNodeB, physical layer signaling to a user equipment (UE), the physical layer signaling being used to control one or more of interference estimation, interference cancellation, spatial equalization of the UE, or a combination thereof.
