PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system and a vehicle body-side communication device which can share a wireless communication device mounted on a vehicle in a remote locking system and a TPMS.SOLUTION: An ECU 1 switches the communication partner of a radio communication unit 12 according to the operation state of a shift lever 22. When the shift lever 22 is parking, the ECU 1 selects a wireless key 3 as a partner of the wireless communication of the wireless communication unit 12. When the shift lever 22 is other than parking, the ECU 1 switches a partner of the wireless communication of the wireless communication unit 12 alternately to the wireless key 3 or the sensor unit 6. The ECU 1 may, instead of the operating state of the shift lever 22, perform the switching according to the operating and/or release state of a parking brake 23 as well. Furthermore, the switching may be performed by adding a condition whether an IG switch 21 is on or not.
