Arranged in order from a first end, this gas generator comprises an ignition means chamber having an ignition means, a gas inflow chamber having a gas exhaust outlet, and a pressurized gas chamber. A closing means formed from a fixed portion and a rupture disc fixed to the fixed portion closes the gap between the pressurized gas chamber and the gas inflow chamber, and, arranged between the ignition means chamber and the gas inflow chamber is a rupture disc breaking means made up of a base, the outer peripheral surface of which is abutted against the inner wall surface of a cylindrical housing, and a rod which extends from the base towards the rupture disc. The fixed portion of the closing means has an annular plate surface part which extends inwards in the radial direction from the inner peripheral wall of the cylindrical housing, and a cylindrical wall part which extends from the inner periphery of the annular plate surface part towards the gas inflow chamber. The rupture plate of the closing means is fixed by welding to the annular plate surface part of the fixed portion from the pressurized gas chamber side, and the breaking means is arranged such that the tip of the rod is surrounded by the cylindrical wall part of the fixed portion of the closing means. |
