Disclosed is a technology for automatically determining the shape of a path on the basis of crowdsourced trajectory data. The trajectory data is collected from a plurality of crowdsourced paths. The trajectory data for each of multiple pieces of crowdsourced data is associated with at least one uniquely identifiable peripheral signal. A reference point can be identified as according with a transition of a characteristic of the trajectory data for each crowdsourced path. Matching can be performed on the basis of analyzing a matching pattern of the reference point and evaluating the matching. Various embodiments include using a link node structure indicating one or more traces and/or a path of a particular geographical region.
