PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost of an integrated circuit of an amplifier for a coherent optical communication and also to reduce the mounting area thereof.SOLUTION: An integrated circuit of an amplifier 1 for a coherent optical communication includes: a plurality of readable-writable register arrays 3 having an 8 bit configuration; a control circuit 2 which reads and writes each register array 3 from the outside by serial communication; and an A/D converter 5a which writes a digital value of 8 high-order bits in a first monitor register out of respective register arrays 3 and also writes the digital value of 2 lower-order bits in a second monitor register.
