PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strip member formation retainer which enables simplification of the structure and prevents enlargement.SOLUTION: A seal tape formation application device 20 includes a unit body 32 provided with a folding unit 33 which folds and holds the one end part side of a seal tape 6. A rotation block 31 is provided at an end part of the unit body 32. The rotation block 31 may rotate between a first rotation position P1 where the other end part of the seal tape 6 is cut and a second rotation position P2 where the cut seal tape 6 is pressed to a carrier tape 5. The rotation block 31 includes: a holding surface 31a which holds the other end part of the seal tape 6; and a cutter storage groove part 31c which stores a cutter 41 for cutting the seal tape 6. The cutter storage groove part 31c is provided at a lower end part of the holding surface 31a.
