Provided is a stator coil of an axial gap rotating electric machine such that the number of connection points of the stator coil is reduced to reduce the axial and radial direction dimensions of lead-out wire, jumper wire, and neutral wire portions and to achieve cost reduction. A stator coil disposed in the stator of an axial gap rotating electric machine that rotates a rotor comprises a plurality of conductor coil pieces disposed in a circumferential direction of the rotating shaft of said rotor and having adjacent connection ends connected to each other on the outer or inner diameter side of said stator, said connection portions being coated with an insulator. The stator coil has a fold-back portion folded back in a rotating shaft direction on the anti-connection-side of said coil pieces. Ends of said coil pieces are extended in a circumferential direction or an axial direction to form an irregularly shaped coil for at least a lead-out portion, a jumper wire, and/or a neutral wire, and said irregularly shaped coils are arranged overlapped with each other in an axial direction. |
