MANAGING LINK FAILURES IN SOFTWARE DEFINED NETWORKS

Examples of techniques to manage link failures in a Software Defined Network (SDN) are described. A set of communication paths of the SDN are obtained. For a network device associated with a first data communication path, from amongst the set of communication paths, a second data communication path is provided to a master network controller of the network device. The second data communication path is an alternate to the first data communication path. The computation of the second data communication path is carried out in a processing resource that is connected to the network device in a slave mode.
