Disclosed is a cell handover method and device. By means of predicting the channel quality of a serving cell of a terminal at the next moment, the terminal is enabled to make a handover preparation before a channel of the serving cell fades to be unable to transmit a data packet. On the premise of ensuring the normal transmission of the data packet, channel resources of the serving cell are utilized to the maximum extent, thereby realizing seamless handover. The terminal comprises: a prediction module for predicting, when the current monitoring moment ti arrives, the channel quality of a serving cell providing a service for the terminal currently and of at least one neighbour cell of the serving cell at the next monitoring moment ti+1, where ti+1 = ti + T, T is a set monitoring period, and i = 0, 1, 2,…; and a processing module for executing, according to the predicted channel quality of the serving cell and the predicted channel quality of the at least one neighbour cell, a cell handover process of the terminal. |
