The obturator has a lumen sized to receive an optical instrument and means to fix relative axial movement between an inserted optical instrument and the lumen. The means to fix may be an O-ring. Alternatively, it may be a lock adapted to frictionally lock the optical instrument axially but allow it to rotate freely.
