PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate release of a casting from a mold by suppressing reaction between molten aluminum and graphite.SOLUTION: A graphite mold for aluminum casting is provided that includes: a lower mold in which graphite is used as a base material and a first spray deposit is formed on a roughened cavity surface; and an upper mold in which graphite is used as a base material and a second spray deposit is formed on a roughened cavity surface. Each of the first spray deposit and the second spray deposit includes: a substrate spray deposit which is formed on a surface layer of the graphite and is composed of Mo or W; and a topping spray deposit which is formed on the substrate spray deposit and is composed of ZrObased ceramic. A spray deposit having the same composition as the first spray deposit is formed on a joint surface of the lower mold, and a spray deposit having the same composition as the second spray deposit is formed on a joint surface of the upper mold.
