The present invention relates to a method for controlling arthropod pests and involves: step A) a step for forming a groove in soil; step B) a step for placing seeds in the groove formed in the previous step, said seeds being formed to retain, internally or on the surface, one or more neonicotinoid compounds selected from group I, and a step for applying an aqueous dispersion or an aqueous solution containing one or more neonicotinoid compounds selected from group I; and step C) a step for closing the groove. Group I consists of clothianidin, thiamethoxam, imidacloprid and thiacloprid.
