Provided is a method for producing a polyacrylic acid (salt)-based water-absorbent resin, said method comprising a polymerization step for polymerization of an acrylic acid (salt)-based monomer aqueous solution. A polymerization reaction device used in the polymerization step has a polymerization reaction section covered by a case. The polymerization reaction is carried out under slightly reduced pressure whereby the degree of reduction of the pressure inside of the polymerization reaction section relative to the atmospheric pressure around the polymerization reaction section is greater than 0 and no more than 10kPa.
