In order to provide a dissolving pulp production method in which the pulp exhibits an ultrahigh purity (α-cellulose content > 97%), a high degree of polymerization (η > 700), and high whiteness (ISO brightness > 90), this dissolving pulp production method involves removing hemicellulose and increasing α-cellulose purity by immersing bleached pulp in a cold concentrated alkali, and the production method is characterized in that the step for immersing the bleached pulp in the cold concentrated alkali immersing the bleached pulp in a 7.0-7.5 wt% sodium hydroxide aqueous solution for 30-90 minutes at 15-100℃. |
