<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system capable of carrying out vehicle type determination with accuracy and without being easily affected by a noise, in which a determination object is specified at a level where vehicle types are more deeply classified than rough vehicle type determination required as output, by extracting a feature shape from an image obtained by, for example, a camera, calculating various feature quantities included in the shape, and comparing and evaluating the feature quantities from various points of view.SOLUTION: The system comprises: a) extraction means for extracting the side faces of wheels, as a feature shape, from an image of the side faces of the wheels of a vehicle to be determined; b) feature quantity calculation means for calculating, as a feature quantity of the feature of the side face of the wheels, at least one selected from a position of the wheel center axis, a wheel diameter, a wheel inside diameter, a wheel base, and a comparison value of a front-wheel diameter and a rear-wheel diameter; and c) comparison means for comparing the feature quantity with a standard set for each vehicle type.</p> |
