PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment method, in a method for treating a tungsten-containing matter using sodium hydroxide, capable of obtaining an NaWOliquid containing no carbonate ions.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for treating a tungsten-containing matter having: an Na substitution step of using a CAWO-containing matter as raw material and mixing the raw material into a sodium hydroxide aqueous solution, making the mixture into mixed slurry having an NaO concentration of 14 wt% or higher to produce sodium tungstate(NaWO), and a W leach step of recovering NaWOas a solid content from the mixed slurry and dissolving the same using an alkali aqueous solution or an alkali carbonate aqueous solution to recover an NaWOsolution.
