摘要 A surface-coated cutting tool, in which a hard coating layer comprises at least a layer composed of a composite nitride or a composite carbonitride each represented by the compositional formula: (Ti1-xAlx)(CyN1-y), wherein the average Al content ratio (xavg) and the average C content ratio (yavg) (wherein each of xavg and yavg is expressed in an atomic ratio) respectively meet the requirements represented by the formulae: 0.60 ≤ xavg ≤ 0.95 and 0 ≤ yavg ≤ 0.005, crystal grains each having a NaCl-type face-centered cubic structure are included in crystal grains constituting the layer composed of the composite nitride or the composite carbonitride, and a specific kernel average misorientation is observed in the crystal grains each having a NaCl-type face-centered cubic structure.
