METHOD FOR PRETREATING GOLD ORE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for pretreating gold ore for recovering gold from the gold ore containing pyrite by a wet process, making it possible to suppress occurrence of sulfur dioxide and in addition, improve a gold recovery rate.SOLUTION: A pretreatment method is intended to recover gold contained in gold ore containing not less than 30 mass% of pyrite(FeS) by a wet process. The pretreatment method includes heating the gold ore in a non-oxidation atmosphere so that D80 of the gold ore after the pretreatment is smaller than particle size(D80) at which a cumulative weight becomes 80%, in a distribution curve of a cumulative weight granularity of the gold ore before the pretreatment.
