The purpose of the present invention is to provide a medium capable of suppressing the sedimentation and/or agglomeration of resin particles containing fluorescent dye and of making it possible for resin particles containing fluorescent dye that have been preserved for a long period of time to be used for staining without requiring complicated operations on the same. The present invention provides a medium for resin particles containing fluorescent dye characterized in that for a particle-containing liquid obtained by adding the resin particles containing fluorescent dye to the medium, the backscatter intensity (transmitted light) at the center in the height direction of the particle-containing liquid after the same has been allowed to stand for 24 hours after the addition varies by -1% or greater from that of the particle-containing liquid immediately after the addition.
