PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device capable of suppressing the generation of unnecessary vibration other than the rotation of an optical member with a simple configuration, and an image display device including such an optical device and capable of ensuring high-image-quality display.SOLUTION: An optical path deflection element 2 (optical device) comprises: an optical member 202 on which light is incident; a frame portion 204 formed of an elastic material higher in elasticity than the optical member 202; a shaft portion swingably supporting the frame portion 204 and formed of the elastic material; a support portion 208 supporting the shaft portion; a first restriction member 231 provided on a plate surface of the optical member 202; and a second restriction member 232 provided apart from the optical member 202 and contacting the first restriction member 231 in response to swinging of the frame portion 204. The optical path deflection element 2 configured as described above can selectively deflect light permeated by the optical member 202 by swinging the optical component 202. |
