PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting cAMP in cells without expression of cAMP binding protein in cells.SOLUTION: Provided is a cAMP detection method for detecting or quantifying cAMP, which comprises: (a) a step of preparing a cell 1 expressing connexin molecules or innexin molecules and a liposome 2 presenting connexin molecules or innexin molecules where the liposome 2 contains cAMP detection reagent inside thereof; (b) a step of forming a passageway 4 between the cell 1 and the liposome 2 mediated by connexin or innexin molecules; (c) a step in which cAMP produced in the cell 1 moves into the liposome 2 and binds to the cAMP detection reagent and the cAMP detection reagent turns into cAMP-bound reagent 6; (d) a step of detecting the change in the property of the detection reagent due to the shift from the cAMP detection reagent 3 to the cAMP-bound reagent 6.
