PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a glass plate capable of efficiently reducing bubbles remaining in a glass plate in manufacturing a glass plate by a down-draw method.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of a glass plate includes a melting step for melting glass-making feedstock to which SnOis added as a clarifier to produce molten glass, a clarifying step, and a molding step for molding the molten glass after the clarifying step by a down-draw method to manufacture a glass plate. The clarifying step includes defoaming treatment for removing bubbles generated in the molten glass by heating the molten glass to 1,630°C or higher and absorbing treatment for making the molten glass absorb the bubbles remaining in the molten glass by lowering the temperature of the molten glass at a rate of 2°C/min. or more in the range from 1,600°C to 1,500°C after the defoaming treatment. |
