PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly safe nonaqueous electrolyte power storage element using a material containing a metal element or a metalloid element as a negative electrode active material that suppresses a micro short circuit.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte power storage element includes: a negative electrode containing as a negative electrode active material a material containing a metal element or a metalloid element; and a nonaqueous electrolyte. The nonaqueous electrolyte contains a lithium ion (Li), a bis-oxalate borate ion (B(CO)), and a boron fluoride ion (BF).
