<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a polyimide film suitable for use as a support base to form an organic EL device, which has a low thermal expansion coefficient, a heat resistance, transparency and the strength of a form; a display device arranged by use of such a film; and a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: Provided are a display device, a manufacturing method thereof and a polyimide film for display devices. The display device is obtained by the steps of: forming a polyimide film by putting and spreading a liquid solution of a polyimide precursor or polyimide over an inorganic base and performing a thermal treatment thereon; mounting a display element on the polyimide film; and delaminating the polyimide film from the inorganic base together with the display element. The polyimide film, has a glass transition temperature of 300°C or higher, a 5%-thermal decomposition temperature of 530°C or higher, a total light transmittance of 80% or more as to a thickness of 30μm or less, a thermal expansion coefficient of 40 ppm/K or less, and a tearing propagation resistance of 1.3 mN/μm or more.</p> |
