<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display mode determination device, a method for determining a display mode, and a program with which it is possible to automatically determine a display mode in accordance with the feature of a content and the capacity of a user.SOLUTION: Provided is a display mode determination device 100 for determining a vertical writing or a horizontal writing display mode when displaying the text part of a content, said device comprising a feature amount extraction unit 102 for extracting the feature amount of a content to be displayed, a reading-finish time estimation unit 103 for estimating a reading-finish time for each display mode on the basis of the extracted feature amount of the content to be displayed and a user profile represented as data in which the feature amount and a reading-finish time are correlated, and a display mode determination unit 104 for comparing the magnitudes of the calculated reading-finish times and determining the adoption of a display mode whose reading-finish time is small.</p> |
