摘要 This technique relates to an image processing apparatus, an image processing method and a surgical operation system for reducing the latency, thereby enabling a captured image to be displayed in nearly real time. A DMA controller (51) of a CPU (31) divides image data, which have been inputted via an interface card (34), by a number of GPU cards (35-1, 35-2) in the horizontal direction and allocates the thus divided image data to the GPU cards (35-1, 35-2). In each of the GPU cards (35-1, 35-2), the image data are subjected to a time division process in the vertical direction. In this way, multiple GPU cards (35-1, 35-2) are used to enhance the speed of a process related to the displaying of image data, thereby reducing the latency, thereby achieving a high speed displaying. This technique can be applied to an endoscopic camera, a surgical operation microscope and the like.
