The invention consists of a split-cycle rotary engine comprising at least one main chamber (1), in which a main rotor (3) can move, such that two of the four operating strokes (power/exhaust) take place in the main chamber (1), while the other two operating strokes (intake/compression) take place in a secondary chamber (11), the four strokes taking place in a specified rotation of the engine, characterised in that a secondary chamber (11) is disposed axially to the main chamber and a secondary rotor (17) moves inside the secondary chamber, said secondary rotor being offset by a few degrees in relation to the main rotor and acting as a counterweight and as a compressor and an element for pumping oxidant towards the main combustion chamber(s), further characterised in that the chambers define therebetween input and output passages for the gases, as well as means for controlling the blocking and unblocking of said passages. In order to compensate for the offset between the secondary rotor acting as a counterweight and the primary rotor, a secondary counterweight (18) is provided that is used to generate electric power. |
