A method for driving a liquid crystal display apparatus comprises the following steps: confirming a pattern type of line data in inputted frame data; setting a plurality of data areas matched with a PDF target pattern; and independently applying an inversion driving method to each of the data areas. According to the liquid crystal display apparatus and the method for driving the same, the present invention can ameliorate poor image quality of an image displayed by applying two or more inversion driving methods while one frame data is outputted.
