The present invention provides a traffic information system using an over-speed enforcement camera which provides a vehicle driver with traffic information. The traffic information system according to the present invention comprises: a vehicle detection unit to detect a vehicle driving on a road; an over-speed enforcement camera arranged on the road on which the vehicle drives to use a photographed image of the vehicle detected by the vehicle detection unit and a signal generated by the vehicle detection unit to calculate information about a speed of the vehicle, a volume of traffic, and an occupying ratio and then output the information through a first transmission unit; a traffic information server which uses the information outputted by the over-speed enforcement camera to calculate a speed limit and output the speed limit to the over-speed enforcement camera; and a speed display plate arranged close to the over-speed enforcement camera to receive the speed limit outputted by the traffic information server through a second receiving unit to display the speed limit. The present invention uses the over-speed enforcement camera on a main road to detect information about an amount of traffic, calculates a speed limit according to the detected information, and then provides a driver driving a vehicle with the information to help driving. In addition, an optimal speed limit corresponding to a traffic situation can be calculated to improve the traffic situation and help driving. |
