PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system capable of preventing water from freezing by efficiently warming a part desired to be warmed with a simple configuration, and a control method thereof.SOLUTION: A fuel cell system 1 equips a water tank 15 with a first freezing prevention heater 17 and a third pipe conduit 27c with a second freezing prevention heater 23. When operation of a fuel cell 3 is stopped, the fuel cell system reversely drives a reforming water pump 19 to pull reforming water into the water tank 15 side. If an outside air temperature is less than or equal to a pump drive determination value (T1a) when the operation of the fuel cell 3 is stopped, the fuel cell system performs reciprocating circulation operation through the reforming water pump 19. When the reforming water temperature is less than or equal to a heater drive determination value (T2a), the fuel cell system energizes the first freezing prevention heater 17 and the second freezing prevention heater 23 to warm the reforming water. |
